In "Greenbeans, Poppies, Figs And Sunflowers," I invite the viewer into a botanical landscape that has moved beyond the terrestrial. This painting continues my exploration into a realm where familiar organic forms-the delicate petals of a poppy-fuse with otherworldly, gaseous spheres. The composition explores the concept of unlikely symbiotic relationships. The floating bubbles, seemingly filled with cosmic energy, appear to both nurture and exist in delicate balance with the flowers. This is a musing on the possibilities of life beyond our planet, where flora might have evolved to exist in harmony with elements we perceive as alien. This work is both an abstraction and a still life, a synthesis that allows me to manipulate color, shape, and line to create an evocative mood. It's a moment of quiet contemplation within a vibrant, sci-fi-inflected vision of nature, where a familiar flower becomes a fantastical guidepost in a "not-quite-so natural botanical landscape."
