I am a self-taught artist in the abstract expressionism/neoexpressionism tradition. I work mainly in charcoal, India ink, and oil with cold wax, building layered, mostly black-and-white surfaces. My color palette is less about decoration and more like a temperature reading. It shows where the energy in the piece is leaking or burning. It's used sparingly and intentionally, not to resolve the image but to expose stress inside it. From a distance the work looks controlled; up close you see stress, abrasion, repetition, and repair. I began making art to survive work stress overload and stay present in abuse and addiction recovery, and that urgency is still visible. My practice sits on a three-point balance under the influence of Camus, Catholic social justice, and entropy. Revolt instead of surrender. The dignity of every person. The honesty of letting breakdown show. I first exhibited publicly in April 2024.
