This photograph was taken at a warehouse off President Street in Savannah in December of 2023. I noticed the collapsing roof while driving one Sunday afternoon, went home for my Yashicamat TLR and tripod, and returned to shoot a few rolls of film. This frame became the strongest of the series. The building later burned down in April 2025, reportedly once a lumber warehouse, though a friend remembered it as a former Coca-Cola site. Apartments are now planned for the property. These images marked a turning point in my photography. During a difficult divorce, I found in this place a reflection of my own emotional landscape. Its ruins, silence, and solitude echoed my grief. Photographing it helped me process loss and discover a deeper voice in my work, one rooted in impermanence and renewal.
