For years I've been searching for a place where all of my inspirations meet-photography, impressionist painting, and the timeless pursuit of the landscape as subject-while uncovering a vision that feels distinctly my own. "North From the Old Pier" embodies that search. At first glance, it may appear to be a painting, but it's entirely photographic. The image was created in-camera using long exposure and filters to soften form and motion, then layered with a scanned piece of aged paper to add texture and depth. A boost in color completes the transformation, creating something both new and familiar-a fleeting roadside scene, reimagined through modern eyes.
