Leroi DeRubertis

Leroi DeRubertis draws with wire. She assembles her pieces en masse to speak to to both individuality and collective humanity. She studied painting at Maryland Institute College of Art, then spent a decade making narrative films and hand-drawn stop-motion videos. Her installations are a marriage of these art forms. She creates to connect, heal, and transform universal stress from injustices into immersive viewing experiences that instill a sense of hope and welcome. She lives and works in Durham, North Carolina.
