My name is Lila Yancey and I used felting to create this landscape. Felting is when you lay wool or yarn over felt and use a special needle to stab it through. I learned to felt in Girl Scouts last year. I was the only one who didn’t stab myself with the needle! The reason I did a felting project is because I love the way you can make things thicker or thinner. You can even make it 3D! Okay, you might think this is deep or sappy, but sadly it’s true. The reason I chose to felt a landscape is because the wool is very soft and fragile - if you pull it too hard it will ruin the wool. Our environment is in the same fragile condition. There are not many places like the one depicted in my art.
