My artwork is inspired by my family. For this art piece I focused on my knowledge of art styles and techniques to empathize realistic details of the piece. The picture is of my grandpa that passed which motivated me to portray who he was in a visual way. I used oil pastels to do this black and white portrait to express the depth and values of the light and darks in the picture. This piece truly captures the emotional process of grief that I experienced with the loss of my grandpa.
