I am a dancer, and I have been dancing for 11 years. My aunt gave me an Edgar Degas calendar in 2021. I fell in love with his paintings of the dancers, and this particular painting was my favorite on the calendar, so I kept it hanging in my room. It stood out to me because of all the different poses of the multiple figures. I also like the complimentary colors. I decided to recreate this Degas piece using my own style and making adjustments to fit on this sized canvas. I named my piece "Apres Degas" because I am so appreciative of his beautiful artistry.
