One thing that I have learned in life is that as we grow, we go through many changes. The kind of change I am thinking of is the change of your mentality. As a child, everything seems lively and vibrant. Children are nothing more than pure and playful with abundant imaginations. They see the world completely different than an adult may see it. As children grow up, they are soon to realize that the world they live can often damage them mentally and emotionally. The boy you see before you represents this phenomenon. If you observe closely, as he grows, his heart becomes more exposed and melts more and more until it is barely even there. Meanwhile, the colors in each background goes from warmer colors to cooler colors, which shows his view on the world. Even his facial expression changes slightly throughout the piece. I wanted to show in this project that you never know what someone may be dealing with in life until you truly get to know them.
