When I came up with this idea, I had a lot of thoughts going through my mind. This piece ended up representing many different feelings, at least to me. It could be either about pain, or even about healing. I love that it can be interpreted in different ways, depending on your perspective. Like how I saw it more as tearing the heart apart, while my friend thought that the hands were holding the heart together. Being able to see it in these opposite ways is part of why I am happy. Personally, when I painted this, I had many different thoughts going through my mind about different things that were happening around me at the time. I didn't really know which one of them I wanted to paint about in this piece. I think I just wanted to represent it all at once, and paint about different overwhelming feelings, while also branching out a little more and trying something new with my art.
