My name is Sydney Evans, I am a junior at South Florence High School. As a member of Florence One Center Of the Arts/National Art Honors, it is safe to say I have a true passion for creativity, expressing myself through art, and experiencing new things. Being apart of these organizations has opened doors to so many opportunities for me, creating a platform me to positively express myself through art, as well as furthering my passion for creativity. In the process of creating the art piece "A Positive Mind", I thought about femininity, our hardships and the things we strive for. The flowers signify the positive thoughts, nurturing energy, and beautiful femininity we carry as women. I chose the colors of the flowers because they create great contrast that also catches the eye of the viewer. The two snakes represent the dark thoughts that we sometimes have creeping into our mind, the meaning can be interpreted in many ways.
