I created this mixed media piece of art in multiple steps. I first loosely sketched out playful flowers. I then used liquid frisket to cover areas that I wanted to remain white. I then used a variety of watercolor techniques to show movement and unity. I used warm colors for the flowers and cool colors in the background. Then, I used pen and ink to create line designs on the flowers and I used scissors and an x-acto knife to cut and lift the flowers to make them appear 3D. Finally, I collaged gold foil and crumbled tissue paper to add texture and detail.
