For this piece, I wanted to explore the relationship between a student and the emotion of being overwhelmed. I chose to express the word "burnout" to show the effects of what it feels like to be burdened with having a lot of school work all the time. In doing this, I used dull colors and a dark background for the painting. I also brought the term "burnout" to a literal meaning as I chose to portray the student as a melting candle by using hot glue to create the melting drips.
