Artist Statement

As I begin the process of moving to college, I come across many memories of my childhood. I am surrounded by the people I love and who love me. While packing, I am reflecting on the experiences I have had, the relationships I have built, the skills I have acquired, and the decisions I have made. It is difficult to move on. This room and these boxes are filled with my entire life and leaving them behind will not be easy, but my memories of friends and family will always be there to guide my way back home.

Lindsey Beam

Myrtle Beach, SC

My name is Lindsey Beam. I am currently an Advanced Art Major at the Academy for the Arts, Science, and Technology. I have always found a passion in the arts, fine and performing, and through this program, I have been able to hone my skills and ideas to find how I want to use my talents moving forward. I have competed and gained recognition in many different competitions across my high school years. I am continuing to pursue a career in the arts and am attending Auburn University in the fall to major in Theater Design and Technology, with the hopes of becoming a set designer.
