Chayann Hanford

My name is Chayann Hanford and I am a 17-year-old artist. I am a junior at the Academy for the Arts, Science, and Technology in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I am an advanced art major and the junior art representative. I participate in several extracurriculars such as the Treehugger's Club, the National Art Honor Society, the National English Honor Society, and the Student Council. In addition, I was my art club's Vice President. Likewise, I've received formal recognition for my art in both school-based and community competitions. My life holds a large influence over my pieces. In my childhood, I drew pieces that corresponded with my favorite shows or characters, and in my early teens, I began to draw art that represented how I wanted to be. As I have developed and shaped how I am, I create products that represent me, my pieces are a reflection of myself. At AAST, I've been given the opportunity to take my passion and expand it on a professional level. I've been able to look at my art from a point of logic and my understanding of art as a progress has increased. I hope to continue my skills and continue my never-ending growth.
