Since he passed away, I've struggled to remember what my dad was truly like-what he looked like, how he made me feel. To preserve his memory and honor him, I decided to draw him. Specifically, I aimed to capture the warmth and bittersweetness I feel every time I think about him. To express this, I exaggerated the warmth of the colours, and using watercolour pencils, I created streaks to symbolize the fading of my memories and the absence of his physical presence in my life today. The technique of using small circles, which he taught me, became my way of paying respect to him and his impact on my life.
