The title of my artwork is called "My Best Friend." It is a colored pencil drawing of two giraffes with yellow and purple irises in the background. The elements and principles that are interpreted in my piece are texture, form, value, contrast, color, gradation, and balance. The overall theme of my artwork is a combination between nature and symbolism. The two giraffes represent my best friend and I because we have been friends for a really long time and she has always been there for me, and I wanted to convey this in my artwork. The flowers in the background are important as well. The colors represent friendship. My goal as an artist to achieve photorealism. This piece has helped me to brainstorm different techniques that I could utilize to make my drawing more realistic. Things I've learned in creating this artwork is how to apply more texture to make my artwork more appealing to the viewers. I hope that my artwork will compel me to create more realistic drawings.
