This piece is part of a portfolio in which I'm exploring what it means to hold onto my childlike sense of wonder through the use of unconventional mediums. My goal was to create a visual representation of how it feels to think outside of the box and reject the weight of external judgement. When I was younger, this mindset came more naturally, but it has gradually slipped away from me as I've grown older and become more aware of the world. I incorporated toy sheep attached to a wire arch to play off of this youthful remembrance. It is a self portrait, but also an invitation to think beyond boundaries and rediscover whimsy in the most unlikely places.
