This piece I completed as a representation of myself. In this work you can see the different arrangement of violets on the pouring pitcher's body. I also included the leaves of the violet to accompany the violets. The handle of the pouring pitcher is a violet vine and the body of the vase itself I decided to leave the color of the bisque fired clay so it didn't distract from the main focus. This piece is a representation of myself because my middle name is Violet. My mom gave me this middle name because it was her grandma's first name. Grandma Violet was one of the kindest souls my mom had ever met and she was notorious for having a gorgeous flower garden at all times. Creating this piece I kept in mind the line of women I have come from and where I stand today.
