Octopus Prime was inspired by my appreciation for organic artwork. I wanted to create a piece more complex than I've created in the past. I wanted to catch an observer's eye by making the tentacles physically come out of the water and break the frame. The background, underwater portion, is acrylic paint and the tentacles that break the surface were modeled with aluminum foil and paper mache. The water ripples were created with hot glue to give dimension and then painted.
