My goal was to create an image of a morning lake landscape with a fishing boat, but it turned out better than I expected. As I was building this art piece, I was inspired by how art can come to life. I combined my love for fishing with what I learned while homeschooling this year. I worked on perfecting painting sunsets, practiced woodworking, and learned how to use resin. I experimented with different art materials such as wood, polyurethane, paint, hot glue, mod podge, resin, and even a kitchen torch in this piece. I made everything from the frame and fishing pole, to painting the background and boat and picking out the elements in the under water scene. I even found some of the plants outside. I had to experiment a lot to make a dam that didn't leak. What worked was metal siding tape and silicon caulk. I am happy with how it turned out.
