Out of all the media I could've done with this artwork, I decided to use chalk. Because of what I've seen and done with the media, I noticed how chalk creates a unique blend with vibrant colors. The reference photo of my brother that I used was also very bright and vibrant, and the chalk would allow me to recreate that. I took inspiration from that photo because of my brother's expression which allowed me to draw a face with the right amount of detail on it, like the wrinkles at his eyes, or his teeth and smile lines, and even how his hand was posing. All of these details reveal the relaxed and playful mood which I want to share with the viewers and help them understand that they can always find something beautiful and nice in the little things in life. I want to encourage viewers to enjoy the simple pleasures with this artwork because many people often overlook things and aren't able to see the beauty in mistakes.
