My work explores my relationship with my father. Growing up in the biker community he made, I found a love for bikes. We found common ground in this shared passion for motorcycles, Deepening our bond. I never recognized the ways we mirrored each other. Our bond formed through the simple yet profound act of riding motorcycles together. In my work, I combine the uses of Etching, Linocut, and mixed media. I use a collection of childhood pictures and may shift or repeat the imagery to represent memory lapses and how I remember these moments playing out. I use a physical representation of our bond, using a thick brown wax thread to connect the imagery that reflects the core of our relationship. My pieces also have important gifts I've received from him throughout the years, like the hats, that I keep close for sentimental reasons. Plus the helmet he gifted me, the helmet he's owned for years and decided to give to me as a promise to go riding together when I have a bike of my own.
