This piece is a self-portrait I made about how I have found peace with myself by exploring my imagination with art. Sometimes life can make me feel hopeless and it seems like my problems are out of my control. When all is lost, I flee to my own secret world of imaginative fantasies to escape from life's cruel darkness. In my imagination, I find solace and break free from worldly fears. Freedom of expression is an important value to me, and I added the colors of the rainbow to this piece to further illustrate this motif. A warm light illuminates the paintbrush to banish the darkness, and behind it, colors and patterns spill out to represent ideas and creativity.
