For my piece, I painted with oil paint an encounter inspired by African tribal traditions to honor their ancestors. I created a dreamy scene to make the meeting feel like the magic it is. The ancestors are the white glowing beings. I gave each of them their own colorful aura to represent their individuality. Surrounding them, other small deceased spirits watch the interaction. It's traditional to offer milk, so I intentionally made it spill out of the bowl, as if they were recieving it. I've been exploring how the soulmate conception varies through different cultures, and was heavily inspired by this specific tradition.
