Being a young girl, it can be challenging not to give in to peer pressure. But my faith has taught me the fruits of the spirit: joy, love, peace, kindness, self-control, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and patience. I used mixed media to create this piece because it gives my art personality. The young girl in this portrait is named Spirit. Spirit's head piece is topped with a crown because my community has taught me pride and to walk with my head high because I am a Queen. I love me, I love my culture, and I am the apple of my eye!
