My sculpture is of a sea turtle. I was inspired to create this piece because of my love for sea life. I took inspiration from the ongoing issue of pollution on beaches, which harms sea turtle populations. I used a dry brush and extra slip to create texture on the fins. I panted the shell in multiple layers, making sure to pay close attention to detail. I wanted the attention of the viewers to first be drawn to the shell of the turtle, and then to the details on the face and fins.
