Loren Schwerd earned her BFA from Tulane University and her MFA from Syracuse University. Her works have been exhibited at the Contemporary Art Center in New Orleans, the Center for Craft, Creativity, and Design, in North Carolina, the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, VA, the Dana Women Artist Series at Rutgers University, in New Jersey, the Craft Alliance in St Louis, the Luckman Gallery at California State University, and the La Triennale di Milano Design Museum in Milan, Italy. She has been granted artist residencies at institutions such as the Djerassi Resident Artist Program, the Art Omi International Artists Residency, the Millay Colony, and the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology. Her works have been featured in the documentary film City of Memory by director Robert Adanto and in international publications such as FiberArt Magazine and Exploring Fiber: in Three Dimensions, Schiffer Press. Loren teaches Sculpture and Design at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
