I'm a Richmond, Virginia based artist who specifically draws portraiture and figures as main subjects. Focusing on details and accuracy to the subject is my main priority when creating these astonishing pieces. My work is inspired by my interest in drawing people from a very young age. Although my main practice is pen & ink, this piece was my first attempt ever in painting portraiture and the figure. The execution of proper precision, proportions, and striking attention to the likeness in the figure's expression help evoke a relaxed feeling distilled in the figure's body language, as well as the environment. The use of grey and dull colors were intentional to the subject and enviroment. The subject was photographed in the nighttime which explains why the colors aren't vibrant as opposed to the daytime. The dullness plays a significant role in expressing the figure reclined in the chair.
