Trip Ivey

Henrico, VA

Trip Ivey was born and raised in northern Virginia. Pursuing interdisciplinary study including engineering and architecture, Trip received his degree in Industrial Design from Virginia Tech in 2011. Upon graduation, Trip moved to southern California to design high performance sailing yachts. Following the birth of his son, Trip moved back to Virginia and founded Ivey Design Group with his wife, Jamie, who spearheads the company's interior design department. Trip continues to design yachts and boats, while also extending into other product development opportunities. He finds inspiration in exploring a variety of materials and processes, participating in a wide range of outdoor activities, and indulging in a healthy amount of daydreaming. It is Trip's goal to spread joy by sharing the objects created out of his imagination, curiosity, and exploration.
