I am a Georgia choreographer. My work spans body-based installations, sculpture, and land-based projects—all are informed by my ongoing exploration of choreography as a toolbox to engage with histories of civic movements, womanism, and Southern cultural legacies. Originally trained as a ballet dancer, I shifted the focus of my practice in 2008. Exhibitions include i came to explore the sun... (2021) Marais de Bonnefont, Bordeaux, Supple Means of Connection (2019), High Museum of Art; gestures... (2017) at MOCA GA; Red Hill River (2016) at the Center for Civil and Human Rights; and all directions... (2015), a Creative Time NY work. I am the founder of glo, a non profit platform. glo received a Rauschenberg Grant (2016-13) for The Traveling Show, a long-term project engaging 63 rural towns. I was the High's first resident choreographer. I was awarded the Lorenzo Il Magnifico prize at the Florence Biennale'(2019); the 2018 Hudgens Prize'; 2017 MOCA GA WIP Fellow; Artadia award (2014).
