The ≈rsgÂng, or ìYear Walk,î is a Swedish divination ritual for those seeking forbidden knowledge. One must walk the line between the spirit and human worlds; weathering the intense cold of the winter solstice night, while avoiding the threat of a landscape suffused with spirits. If they manage to do this, then they may see visions of future events. Simply put, the Year Walk is a ritual that seeks answers regarding the unbearable uncertainty of being. In this series, the protagonist will enact the Year Walk ritual and begin a journey through a spirit world suffering under the threat of overconsumption, pollution, and other challenges presented by unrestrained late-stage Capitalism. The protagonist will view a future for our world, based in a system that continues to allow economic process to dominate humanity and nature. Viewing our world from outside of itself will allow our protagonist to learn of humanity's wrongdoings from the spirits and then visualize a more balanced reality.
