Artist Statement

17. For 17 years I've known you. At the young age of 19, I became your father... You're my son. You helped me become a man and I'm thankful for that. Through the years I've watched you grow, learn, and become independent. It is you I celebrate. There's more to you underneath that you've yet to see. Underneath any mistakes, you'll always be more precious than gold. You'll always be valuable. God has a purpose for you. He loves you. You are important. Each year of your life is on display within this artwork, an image for every year. A moment in history I will always have. And when obstacles arise in life, this reminds me that we need to step away every now and then to see a clearer picture. If each dot is a reason for me to love you Jayden, there'd be over 70,000. I only need one though... and it's you.

Joshua Redfearn

Cheraw, SC

I love to create! I am a Graphic Designer from Cheraw, SC. I enjoy video production, crafting, and creating in general. I have been married for 10 years and have 3 wonderful children. Art has always been a part of my life and I enjoy the challenge to create pieces that pull viewers in as they realize there is more than meets the eye in each piece. I love using colors throughout my pieces, engaging the eyes and the mind. Color is an amazing medium. I was accepted into ArtFields 2014 with my piece "Think", and won the People's Choice award for 3D artwork. I feel artists as a whole are not highlighted and celebrated as they ought to be, until now. From grade school into adulthood, artists are not pushed to the forefront. ArtFields has changed that. They put artists front and center for all to see. It feels good, and it's about time. Thank you ArtFields.
