At the beginning of COVID, realizing my working habits would have to change, I began to photograph my partner and myself with plantlife I was gathering from a neighborhood park. Metamorphosis†is the theme in "Cloistered†Order.î Plant and animal are woven together much like†the painted margins of illuminated manuscripts. These are portraits of our interactions with the confining environment around us during the time of COVID, chimeras of humans and plants.†The mixture of artificial and natural light, sometimes causing a sickly sallow complexion, lends an air of otherworldliness, and highlighted a new atmosphere of security in our own space and uncertainty in the outside world.
