Activation Stations open at 11am-7pm Friday, April 25th, and then follow regular open hours for the duration of the festival. Michelle Wilkie

Michelle Wilkie is a self-taught textile artist and designer of modern quilts. Quilting is a passion, driving her creativity. She works to have her quilts seen not just as quilts but as art. Many of her designs are inspired by the details she finds or experiences every day. She transforms these into art through piecing, editing, and quilting. She experiments with a variety of modern techniques and aesthetics, though embraces Improvisation and Minimalist styles.
Michelle is an artist in residence at Durham Art Guild, and completed Penland School of Craft Winter Residency (2023). She had her first solo art exhibition Page-Walker Center in July 2023. She has also exhibited at CAM Raleigh, Truist Gallery and FRESH exhibition at ArtSpace NC (open call + final) and curated shows international shows in France and Italy. She has work juried into International Quilt Exhibitions (inc. QuiltCon, Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival, International Quilt Festival).
