He had some of the best epidemiologists and infectious disease experts advising him and briefing him on a daily basis, some of whom were appointed by his own administration. He then disregarded their advice and even contradicted the recommended best practices for dealing with a pandemic. His anti-science approach led to his followers ignoring basic advice from the CDC and the WHO. He runs again this year, and I can't help but fear how many more people he'll get killed through his willful ignorance and desperation to ignore his own advisors, in order to feel like the smartest man in the room.
