This composition of HBCU players was inspired by the realization of seeing the same few Division I universities atop the sports leaderboards, specifically college football. Ironically the abundance of African American talent plays a vital part in these schools' success. In this precarious climate, we're in, it's time the influence and power we have is properly acknowledged and is used to improve our communities and place in society. We don't have to attend Alabama, Clemson, or any Division I University to reach the pinnacle of our particular sport. In fact, these schools need our talents to be successful more than we need what they offer (even when it's not framed that way.) For example, these forty-five men made it to the pinnacle of their sport by attending HBCUs, some of which were only accepted by these particular schools.
