Jason Lord is an inquiry-based, interdisciplinary artist based in Durham, NC, working in installation, drawing, sculpture, assemblage, artist books, print, photo, video, sound, social practice, and writing. He has exhibited his work in exhibitions throughout North Carolina and beyond, including the Weatherspoon Art Museum, McColl Center, Horse & Buggy Press, Lump Gallery, Greensboro Project Space, and other regional spaces. Jason is the recipient of a Vermont Studio Center Fellowship, a Windgate Fellowship for Innovation in Craft from the Hambidge Center, a Penland School of Craft Winter Residency Fellowship, funded residencies from McColl Center, the Peter Bullough Foundation, VCCA, and LEVEL Retreat, as well as an NC Artist Support Grant.
Jason holds a BFA in Studio Art from UNC-Chapel Hill and an MFA from UNC-Greensboro. Since 1995, he has taught visual art, music, theater, technology, and outdoor education to pre-schoolers through undergraduate students and adult learners.
