For me, the thrill of my artistic practice is in the unpredictable journey and the surprise destination. What excites me is discovering new and unexpected relationships for incongruent materials and images. I am inspired by vintage objects, books and ephemera which I cannot help but seek out. Religious iconography, old outdated textbooks, photographs scribbled with inscriptions. I am drawn to the depth of their patina and rarely do I have a preconceived notion of what I will create before I dive in. With paint and other mediums, I guide and arrange these forgotten materials into a fresh, unexpected, harmonious relationship.



BIOGRAPHY

I am a native West Virginian, currently living in St. Albans. I've worked all my life as a graphic designer and advertising art director and continue to freelance. I have participated in many juried exhibitions statewide and nationally and have won a number of awards.
