I use collage/mixed media to explore the intersection of memory, architecture, and emotion. I construct layered, surreal compositions that capture the tension between permanence, decay, stillness, and transformation, with each piece acting as a paused film. I frequently explore the role of women within institutional, religious, and architectural spaces, and reflect on how the female body navigates these environments. This piece, "Passage," directly addresses the emotional architecture of an empty nest and growing older as a mother. The imposing, fractured structures and empty concrete plains symbolize the physical and emotional space left behind as children mature and move on. The isolated figure facing an uncertain, expansive horizon embodies a moment of transition-simultaneously isolating and full of potential. The composition reflects the feeling of looking toward the future with a mix of uncertainty and fragile anticipation, defining this domestic transition as a complex, personal passage.
