I received a BFA in Printmaking from Colorado State University in 1981 and an MFA in Printmaking from Indiana University in 1985. I was a Professor of Art at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana teaching drawing and printmaking from 1987 to 2016. Since 2017, I have lived in Greenville, South Carolina as a professional artist primarily working on my art. My art practice spans several mediums and fluctuates between representational and abstract imagery. I draw, paint, make prints, and create assemblages. My representational works are primarily monumental charcoal drawings of family and friends. My abstract works are mainly monumental paintings which are images combining my interests in scientific inquiry and charts and maps. In addition, I am deeply immersed with art history and constantly strive to incorporate it in my work.
