"Common Ground" is a sculptural audio installation that explores the shared experience of hurricane Helene. The audio element features recordings from videos I created during the flood, capturing sounds of rushing water, sloshing mud, and heavy machinery. The river sand that fills the clear glass headphones represents the passage of time and nature's impact. The pair of headphones are connected by a wire, symbolizing the connections formed through shared experience and memories. This piece invites viewers to think about resilience and community in the face of challenges.
