Rhaelene Rollins Lowther is a visual artist and professor currently living and working in Magnolia Arkansas. She explores themes of time, memory, ritual and pattern; often focusing on quiet everyday moments in nature as the foundation of her subject matter. Her primary medium for these works are acrylic and watercolor, often with mixed media elements added.
Rhaelene received her BFA in painting from Brigham Young University and her MFA in digital media from Utah State University. She worked as an artist in the video game industry for 10 years before beginning a career as an art professor at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, AR where she teaches game art and animation classes. This background in digital art informs, and sometimes makes its way into, her traditional media work.
