I moved to Florida from my home state of Ohio as a young adult and immediately entered the full-time working world. Life got in the way and I did not explore my interest in art until recently. I had enjoyed art classes in high school and my family is full of artistic talent so, upon my retirement, I began searching for a way to explore and express that side of me. I experimented with clay in a hand building ceramics class. Oh my! The feel of the clay, the earthy smell, the forgiving nature of raw clay, the endless glaze combinations and the never-ending learning, lit my heart on fire! I couldn't stop and soon became a member of the pottery studio. I love working with the clay and using colorful glaze combinations to celebrate the shape, texture and style of the piece. So here I am today, a Christian, a wife, a mom and a ceramics artist and loving every minute of it!
