I make emotional vignettes that are peculiar, uncomfortable, and may ask for sympathetic empathy. My works include cloth applique on wood, applique quilt making, paper forms and collage, 3D printing, songwriting and recording, and vocals. All components are made from materials that have already lived on (clothes), lived with (books), or lived through (songs) someone.



Quilts locate the work on the surface of a bed, a cloud cover of an intimate space often associated with the unknowing of the night. Quilts present a situation between people. A quilt can't be looked at without imagining at least one underneath.



Songs are our habit between thinking and emotions. They can tell an all too expansive tale but sew it all together with a verse. We can hear a singer's voice even when their body is nowhere in sight. We can remember it. Songs are an apparition of haunting feelings.
