I made this piece of artwork because it inspires me. It makes me feel confident. This artwork has helped me get out of my shell and helped with my shyness. My motivation for this artwork is my Momma. She is determined to help me to become an artist, and she is always by my side assisting me to strive, despite different obstacles that may arise through the school year. If I accomplish this, I know I will make my Momma proud. I chose the owl in my artwork because it is our school's mascot. I made this piece of artwork with value pencils, and I used a variety of pencils to help with my shading. By shading in different directions, I was able to create texture and realistic feathers that will make the owl stand out. This artwork means a lot to me because I thought about it and some of the characteristics of an owl are similar to mine. Such as I am detail-oriented, curious, and determined. Also, this artwork has allowed me to show my feelings and my emotions through my drawing.
