I am Rahgen Mcclam, and I took art at Ronald E McNair Junior High. My art teacher Mr.Manning is the best art teacher that I have had in a long time. Mr.Manning is the reason that I have gotten back into drawing and practicing to improve my art skills. Art is my favorite class that I have taken this year: I love art because it helps me express the way I feel and the way that I think about the world. People who have inspired me have been my mom, my godmother, my dad, and Mr.Manning. They have all supported me in my journey of art, and I appreciate them so much. Outside of art, I like to play basketball and run track. This year was my first year play basketball, and I think that I am pretty good at it to say that it's my first time playing. However, I couldn't have done it without coach Graham. This year, I am going to try out for track and hopefully I will make the team. Another thing that I like doing is reading: my favorite book is The Outsiders because it describes what it was like growing up in that time setting and how hard it was for some people. Now that I have a chance for my art to be entered in Art Fields, I feel delighted that other people can get a chance to see my artwork and what I think of the world.
