The artwork I create explores themes of change in personal identity and mindsets. For this piece, I decided to focus on my change in mindset regarding my future and personal goals, specifically with how I've been feeling increasingly lost with what I want to pursue after being complacent with my path. This concept is symbolized through the redfish as well as the plate it sits on, displaying a variety of imagery including the estuaries where the fish is found. Here, the fish represents my feeling of being stuck and confused, as the plate represents the perfect future that I'm so close to but so far away from as well. By combining these two aspects together, they work together to represent how I almost feel "stuck on the plate."
