My mom passed away from a long battle with lymphoma in March 2020, just as Covid was making its appearance. During this time, I was drawn to the soothing touch of porcelain on my fingertips. Day after day, my prayers and my hands became entwined as they responded to the world around me - grieving family, sick friends, divided country, and a hurting world. Much like a weaver with her loom or a spider with her silk, I began my work... Cut. Pinch. Poke. Repeat. Cut. Pinch. Poke. Repeat. Cut. Pinch. Poke. Repeat. My heart and mind were consumed in prayer as my hands were tireless in their pursuit to make something beautiful out of the surrounding chaos. 3,648 fragile, porcelain bits and 13,328 bronze rings were connected. Prayer after prayer and pinch after pinch, an elegant tapestry emerged, an intricate conversation with The Lord in three-dimension. A prayer for you is woven within.
