Studies began with entry to The Atlanta College of Art in 1968. Influential instructors include Ed Ross & Anthony Greco. I received a BFA in 1972 concentrating on painting & printmaking.
Entering the graduate art program at The Univ. of South Carolina in the summer of 1972, my style shifted to lyrical abstract expressionism. Studying under Derek Southall, graduate work involved shaped canvas, lyrical abstraction & printmaking. In 1975, I received my MFA in painting & printmaking.
After graduation, I pursued both juried and non-juried exhibitions opportunities receiving both awards and purchases. A lyrical painting on paper,"Harlow", was purchased by The South Carolina State Art Collection for their permanent collection.
During 1979 I met my future wife, Sharon Bailey, who had received her BVA from Ga. State Univ. in 1978. Since then we have combined our artistic strengths collaborating on paintings, collage, reliefs, prints, digital art & sculpture.
